Its been too long

Time goes by faster than you realize then you tune back in to the reality and realize you've been out of touch with more than just time. You haven't caught up with friends, or checked in on your sick neighbor, or sat down to write a hand written personal kind word to someone you care about.

We've neglected posting here for a little while and we're quite ashamed. We hope we'll do better in the future.

For your enjoyment and entertainment, we offer these recent April 2011 photos!

Happy Spring!

Beautiful day in NC

The sun has been out for two straight days now and I'm back to soaking up the sun in the drive way. Hopefully winter has seen the last of North Carolina and sunny days will continue. The snow has been falling like crazy, but worse than that is the cold temps and the rain. You know I hate getting my feet wet.

Hoping the sun is shining where you are too!

In memory of a zookeeper

Stephanie at the Knoxville zoo died on Friday as a result of injuries sustained in carrying for the elephant. i had a rare opportunity to be as close to the females as the zoo keepers are on a daily basis. i met and talked to stephanie on several of my visits to the zoo.
her interest in animals started early in her life with the rescuing of dogs. she then went to work at Sea World and worked at the zoo with the elephants for two years. Stepahanie, i have no doubt you touched many lives and also no doubt that Edie, Tonka and Jana will miss you as well as the humans and other animals that you touched in your life time.

Snow in North Carolina

It doesn't snow in these parts often, but when it does we try to get out and enjoy a bit.

It melted just a day later. :( We'll have fun though the next time the snow falls. To be sure.
Happy New Year!!

where did December go???

We've been a little lazy lately and realized that the entire month of December has nearly passed and we didn't say hello. We'll just fill this page with some photos from the month.

Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas. We've been spoiled, and the new year is looking pretty promising for all of us.

We wish you good health, warm hearts and happiness in 2011!

dogs will be dogs

We had a fun weekend with visits from all of the girls and going through some old photos. Had to share this picture of Andre, our first Frenchie, and Nakita, the first Siberian. They set the trend.

Halloween was a blast

Oh my goodness, little witches and goblins and costumes I did not recognize rang the door bell and asked for trick or treats. I thought they meant kisses, but apparently they wanted something mom was giving out. Anyway, this was my first Halloween in North Carolina and it was a ton of fun. Mom and Mistie carved pumpkins and i had a little fresh pumpkin snack. I shared it with Chilly and Deuce of course.

Then Mistie called for me to have pictures taken with mom. You know how much I love that. When the pictures were said and done I spent some time helping decorate the front porch. Mom says spilling water on the porch isn't decorating, but she doesn't know how much fun it is to chill the feet in the drinking dish.

Mom was telling me about a write up on petfinder wherein an English [bulldog] admits to enjoyin' having a butt rub. You know Deuce and I love some of that action too, but mom said it wasn't politically correct to say that out loud. What was she thinking????? Petfinder is on the internet where thousands can read about butt rubs. Ohhhhh I like the thought. I'm going go ask mom for some attention right now.

C-ya later
